Hi Sweta, with a time frame like this..i.e more than a year you can do wonders at GRE. I think you can start preparing the word lists right away..there are many displayed on our website..pls go through them all..besides these there are innumerable tests that will help you evaluate your performance. oh, you want to know my academic background? I had my bachelors in electrical engineering in 1999 and since then I have worked as a technology teacher in a technical school , and currently working with a telecommunication company.
I wanted to take the GRE because Job trends are changing and more people are coming out with bachelors and that I have to move a step ahead. I also have a dream of becoming a lecturer at the university someday and think GRE is a prerequisite to my dreamland.

That’s good to know Charles..you can pretty well appear for GRE and do your Master’s, you have to take TOEFLiBT too..you must already have thought of some good universities..didn’t you? All you need to do now is book a slot for both the exams and start your application process..

No one can say that, it depends on your learning levels..each student will have his/her own learning methodology..are u a fast learner or slow learner..u need to ask urself these questions first..and then decide how long it might take you to prepare for GRE..

Top GRE Flash cards is truely a graet job. I newly started it but i felt there shoud be some changes in it inorder to make it more benificial & more fruitful. Firstly the pronunciation of words is missing, I mean a way or a technique should be added to teach the appropriate accent & pronunciation of words using the audio technique in addition with the visual add( Flash Card).
Secondly the status of word sholud be added too, either that is a verb, noun or adjective etc. I feel it would be more benificial in this way!

Hi Barari, u first need to have 16 years of formal education..then take GRE..get a good score in that..that coupled with ur academic score will get u scholarship..
Susan some Universities may ask for Subject GRE for pursuing PhD..otherwise a general GRE is just ok..one usually takes a subject GRE when one wants to show the admission board that he/she has an edge over others..and can alos run an extra mile to be in that Univ..

Hi Zeyer GRE is not any language proficiency test. It is an eligibility test to pursue Master’s Education in the US. There is quantitative test segment too in the GRE.

I wish I would have found you guys sooner! My GRE is in 3 days and counting and the book is just a difficult way because, as many others said, you have to spend a lot of time writing and researching, and this is just so much more efficient! I would recommend advertising a bit more if possible (I know it is expensive) because I had a hard time finding you!

I want to improve my vocabulary and i was thinking of taking GRE after a year or two. i have tried to study new words but i end up forgetting them. I think the idea of using flashcards is cool. I scored 350 in my previous GRE verbal test and I hope to study harder this time and get a lofty score, to bolster my application for a PhD admission in one of the top petroleum engineering progams in Stanford and/or Texas.

sometimes the meaning of some words take long time because of the long expression to mean that word .So it seems to me that it would be easier for us to learn that word if it is in one or two word…After all it is a laudable process to learn word .. heartiest congratulation to the authority & the organisation also …

Neelima, kindly keep in mind the revised verbal section. With revised verbal section, out of context vocabulary will be completely out of picture. You need to work more harder on RC questions..
