Top 10 GRE Resolutions

Sponsored Links

2010 steps in!! Call this the GRE year, if you are one devout aspirant! We all have some resolutions to make, don’t we? Many of us are taking GRE this year and that too in the months of January and February. The year has for us many pleasant surprises if we only know how to utilize time effectively. You can commit yourself to taking GRE and getting an awesome score in that only if you follow these suggestions.

  1. Act, don’t think. Thinking leaves us with ‘no time’
  2. Schedule your studies rationally
  3. Keep your body and mind fit for the exhaustive preparation needed
  4. Don’t overburden with studies when not in mode
  5. Relax after every arduous preparation
  6. Don’t try to please everyone. The process only hurts. Will never help.
  7. Don’t entertain yourself more than needed
  8. Please do not think that you should know everything
  9. Keep practicing until the day of GRE
  10. Keep your morale, confidence, optimism in tact, come what may!

I hope these suggestions will help us prepare for GRE in true spirit, and help you secure a great score. I wish you all a very happening year ahead. May all your academic inspirations and desires come true. May you all join the Grad School your heart desires.

Do you have some more resolutions to share with us? Please do comment here. You can also start a new topic on the forum and invite participation from many diligent students like you.

Wishing you Success!!

    Hi Annu

I took GRE on Feb 6, 2010 and the result came back. It is not good. Verbal= 440 Quantitative=610 and AWA=3. I am thinking to take again in the coming October b/c here in Ethiopia it is given twice a year. One thing you and Learnwordlist.com should do is to inform test takers the time constraints they face on the day of the exam. If you don’t think fast, act fast and work fast, all that you read is meaningless because GRE is all about doing things right on short time.

    All the best,

The above mentioned points are really nice but i would like to add one more i.e be consistent in your preparation.

  5. AnuVeluri on March 25th, 2010 3:02 am

    Yes that’s a very good point too…

  6. Sumbal Riaz on March 25th, 2010 7:28 am

These points are very helpful indeed for GRE takers. But consistency is no doubt very important ingredient. And my question is that how could one be consistent or in other words whats the minimum amount of time of preparation would be required that one should practice daily at least?

  7. AnuVeluri on March 26th, 2010 3:27 am

Hi Sumbal, the learning curve varies from student to student..u shud know ur speed and ability based on that fix a judicious time frame for yourself..
