Ibrahim, GRE is a gate way exam in order to seek admission in US universities for graduate program. If you are aiming to do masters in US then you would require to take GRE. Kindly visit ets.org for registration details.

Apoo, be little specific in which country you are looking for this course, any ways some best universities are:Stanford University,MIT,Carnegie Mellon University.
Thank you for your inquiry regarding Johns Hopkins University. In response to your question, there is no minimal GRE score to be considered for admission. Please keep in mind that each applicant’s complete application – including your transcripts, letters of recommendation and other academic accomplishments – will be considered before an admissions decision is made.
Ma’am, i m a civil engineering student and aspire to study in US for my masters. I will be taking my exam on 28th and so i m already very nervous. In the mocks i took, my score ranged between 1200 to 1400 and my college aggregate, as of now, stands above 65% or abt 8.2 GPA. So could you suggest me univs that i may apply to… I dont expect my score to rise too much now.
Chaitanya , US universities rate GPA on the scale of 1-4 , and 65% would be around 1 GPA.If your academic records are not good enough then you must hard to secure decent GRE score in order to get good graduate school.kindly tell me in which stream you want to pursue your masters.
Ma’am im in Third year Electronics Engg Mumbai University , my agg stands at a meager 61% .As far as extra curricular activities go iv done nothing very substantial ; just participated in some robotics workshops n competitions n won few music competitions …

I gave my general GRE today, and I did not score well. My score reads Verbal-510;Quant-770. I have done my undergrad in chemistry from St Stephen’s College,India and right now pursuing a Masters program at the University of Oxford. My grade in Masters is A, which is considered to very good in Oxford. I am assured of getting good reccomendations from my profs here.
I also have research experience, besides my MSc thesis I have also done 3 summer projects during my undergraduate study. I wish to apply for phD programs in U.S. Universities. Initially I had decided on UC Berkeley, Princeton and Caltech, but after seeing my GRE score, I think only a miracle can get me into one of those places. Should I consider retaking the GRE or apply to places which accept lower GRE scores, or still continue with my application trusting my recommendations and GPA
Debayan, do bear in mind excellent GRE is never a guarantee for top notch US university, though their cut off is usually quite high. Along with GRE, factors like your excellent academics, Recommendation letter, many more things decide your final enrollment. I would suggest contact university through website and ask for minimal GRE cut off in your discipline. Make your final decision accordingly.
